RAIN, RAIN and more, and with the obvious Course closures, I find myself in a dilemma of having little to report since the February 1st edition. The upside to limited golf days has been that we've moved forward on several tasks such as completion of our 2010 Roster Book and jump started the planning stages of several upcoming tournaments and luncheons. On January 25th, Henni Williston and I attended a North Bay Women's Golf Association Board Meeting at Playa Azul. Like PWGA and WRENS, North Bay is another avenue for us to experience golf at and with additional North Bay 9 and 18-hole ladies groups. The Board Members of NBWGA have chosen August 12th at Oakmont as one of their Play Days and we are delighted as this Playday just happens to coincide with our most popular event of the year; The Niner Member/Guest Invitational and Luncheon. Wouldn't you agree that this is a fabulous way to show off beautiful Oakmont, our Golf Courses, our Quail Inn and our dedicated Sections? If you are not currently a member of NBWGA and are interested in joining, or if you have questions regarding NBWGA remember that Henni Williston is available to help you with both membership and questions.
UPCOMING NINER EVENTS: MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Thursday, February 18th - Member and Guest Get Acquainted Luncheon at the Quail Inn. Deadline for signups is Thursday, February 11th. 2010 Roster Books will be distributed.March 11th - Wearin'O'the Green Tournament and Luncheon -Valerie Boot will be posting details shortly and will have Sign-up sheets available at the Get Acquainted Luncheon.
March 25th - WRENS EVENT
The Oakmont Q-Tees will be hosting the first WREN'S event for 2010 on Thursday, March 25th, with a breakfast Planning Meeting at the Quail Inn followed by golf on the West course.
We look forward to playing with friends from Buckingham, Foxtail, Hidden Valley Lake, Rob Roy, and Ukiah. Be sure to check out the poster in the East Pro Shop with all the details and signup sheet!
In closing, I'd like to inform that I've been given good news by the Meteorologists that sunny days with much warmer temperatures are ahead; the downside to this prognosis is that these same geniuses aren't exactly sure when it will happen?

LET THE TOURNAMENTS BEGIN!
On Thursday, March 11th we begin the 2010 Tournament Schedule with our raucous Wearin' O' the Green Tournament and Luncheon. Leprechauns Valerie Boot, Lee Marabito and Liisa Karjalainen along with Linda Yates and Ruth Levy will spread lots of Good Luck 4-leaf Clovers and Pots of Gold with a 9AM East Course Shotgun "Putts Only" Tournament. Staying with long held tradition, the Niner St. Patty's Day Irish Luncheon will follow at the Quail Inn beginning at 11:30 AM. Valerie has posted the Luncheon and Tournament signup sheets in the East Pro Shop. For those who have not signed up yet, you've got the LUCK OF THE IRISH because there's still time, our deadline date will be Friday, March 5th. Our St. Patty's menu is featured below. Cost for Tournament and Luncheon is $22 pp. Lunch only is $20. Make checks payable to Oakmont Niners and deposit in our Niner Box located in the East Pro Shop.

A reminder that our WRENS "Q-Tees" will host a WRENS BREAKFAST MEETING AND PLAY DAY on Thursday, March 25th beginning at 8:30AM at the Quail Inn. Golf on the West Course follows the meeting with tee times beginning at 10AM. Linda Yates and Janet Siela have posted WRENS signup sheets along with detailed information on this March 25th event in the East Pro Shop. Should you have any additional questions regarding this event be sure to give either Janet or Linda a call.
