Who's  your  caddy ?  PGA  Results

All 78 of the SIRs on the SIR Golf distribution list were "invited to play in the PGA championship" and were assigned a caddy at random from among the 158 pros entered.
No SIR was assigned Jason Dufner ( after all, he had not won a pro tournament in his
lifetime ).  But nine of the top ten finishers were all caddying for SIRs, and 47 of the "caddies" assigned to SIRs made the cut ( and 29 did not, including Tiger Woods, Martin Kaymer, and John Daly ).  The 47 who made the cut all earned Fed-SIR-ex points.

Several of the SIRs on the above winners list are on our SIR Golfers distribution list but have not yet Played SIRs Golf in 2011.  Try it, you'll like it. Tuesday September 6 or Thursday September 8.  With a special " tennis-player's late starting time" on Thursday at 10:48 and another at 2:06.

New SIR golfers are most welcome.  We will start you off with the median Fed-SIR-ex points in the CAMBRIDGE division, so that one good round can put you right up there on the leader board.  And if you have not played golf for a couple of years, we can give you a "rust handicap" to make you competitive.  But most of all, you will enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow SIRs.  Please contact Norm Pelton 538-3574, pel2k@aol.com , or Kelly Snow 538-7669, kellysnow1@sbcglobal.net  to arrange your tee time
.

Fed-SIR-ex semi-finals

Hope you noticed that Bill Haas in the Fed-ex Cup finals last week was able
to leap forward to win ten million dollars at the very last minute with a
par on the third play-off hole. This is because the Fed-ex-Cup points are
greatly increased as the season draws to a finish. Same with Fed-SIR-ex
points.  EVERYBODY has a chance to leap forward to a podium finish or even
the SIR Golfer of the Year award.  Go for it in October and November SIRs
golf !

New SIR golfers are most welcome. Contact Norm Pelton 538-3574,
pel2k@aol.com or Kelly Snow 538-7669, kellysnow1@sbcglobal.net for a tee
time. Revised Tee times for established SIR golfers below.  If you cannot
play, or want to change your tee time, contact Norm or Kelly.

18-hole golfers and 9-hole golfers are mixed in the same foursomes.  All
start on the front nine, east course, and keep the same scorecard.
18-holers continue on the back nine as 9-holers drop out.  Fed-SIR-ex points
in parentheses.
