While the day started cold and grey, our team was buffered by a hearty breakfast and many dressed warmly. As usual, those in shorts soon regretted their sartorial decision. Richmond is next to the Bay and is seldom warm before afternoon, if then. The fog broke about 11:00 and temperatures began to slowly rise, even as the wind chill remained steady in a freshening breeze. After a fine lunch the day became almost tepid, (late 60s). The course was in excellent shape, with greens at about 10.5 on the stimpmeter and treacherous as usual. However, the fairways are wide and inviting, with water only a threat on the first hole. Traffic getting there was very moderate. All in all, it was a fun trip.
